Tell us a bit about yourself

We are a small Asian company full of talented young people who love coding, designing, developing and caring for our customers. All of us work towards one main mission, and that is to ‘bring world-class products to customers around the world.’

To what do you attribute your success – how is your business unique?

We work with a strong passion for what we do. Customers with a high demand for perfection are what help us improve and gain more milestones and achievements.

What do you love about your work and why?

Our work always involves thinking about customers. When building a product, we focus on what and how that product can help customers have more success. Customers help us to see our weaknesses and give us more motivation to improve and develop our work.

At what moment did you decide to pursue your business?

The founder of Halothemes is an Art Designer who knows how important design is for a website. In 2012, when seeing the importance of Design in a template and along with the rapid developments of some eCommerce platforms, we decided to start up our business.

What’s the most challenging thing about your work?

The most challenging thing we come across is the competition from many other strong competitors in the same market as us. 

Who or what inspires you and why?

All of the big companies in the same market inspire us. We learn more from them, we want to grow and we always try our best to gain more success like them.

What’s your most memorable client/customer story on Envato?

We have many loyal customers who have used our themes for their website for years. There is a client who has been using our Ella theme for 30 different stores because they love it!

One of the most popular websites on beauty products called Jeffree Star Cosmetics has been using our Ella theme for a long time, and we’re very proud of that.

What is your advice to other authors regarding how to create a successful portfolio?

When you build a template and provide it to customers, we’d recommend that you focus on these areas below:

• The design of the template. Design occupies about 50% of the main product and it helps customers decide whether the theme will be a good or not. In fact, research shows that 70% of people don’t trust poorly designed websites.
• Code/ Functions / Updates. Make it fast-loading with good functionality to increase conversion rates, and make sure the template is always updated with the latest technology for ecommerce platforms. 
• Customer Support Service. If you can provide a good theme, you must provide good customer service as well. Do your best for customers and they will pay the best for you.

Apart from yourself, who is your favorite marketplace author, and why do you like them?

p-themes is our favorite author. They do awesome things that we can learn from in our business. We admire them!

How do you balance work and family life?

At Halothemes, we always care about the quality of life of each team member. At the office, we focus on our professional work, out of the office, we focus on activities to relax and have fun. Each team member of Halothemes has their own talent such as singing, playing football, cooking and playing games.

We also love to go out for dinner, have beers, go travelling and do some team-building activities together too!

What are your plans for the future?

We will continue focusing on our main business – providing templates for eCommerce platforms, and work on our next big thing for other products in the future!
