Meet one of our Authors, EvalMiko, who has shared his Envato experience and work advice with us. 

How did you get started as a creator and where are you based?

At the moment I live in Tbilisi, Georgia, but I’m constantly moving and originally was born and raised In Lithuania.

At the beginning, I was creating content from start to finish on my own with only my tripod and drone. They were my ‘third hand and eye’ and I used them mostly for taking selfies from time to time. Now my lovely girlfriend helps as a model a lot. I’m currently on a road trip around Turkey, but I mostly work in one location, which is Tbilisi.

I love the freedom and flexibility Envato gives me. I get to choose when and where to work and being my own boss and shooting photos/videos never feels like a job, but a passion.

What’s the most challenging thing about your work and what do you love about your work the most?

The competition in the market and catching up with work and content that is waiting to be processed and posted from my hard drives.

What are some of your hobbies and interests?

Besides photography and videography, I like hiking, camping, snowboarding, bicycle touring (usually long distance and international) and travelling everywhere and anywhere.

What is your advice to other Authors who want to be successful on Envato?

• Have the attitude of ‘quality over quantity’
• Do research before you shoot
• Ask yourself what your goal is and keep in mind that it’s a marathon not sprint
• Gear matters, so get the best you can afford
• Have a consistent workflow
• Watch what trends are current and shoot that content
• Start only if you are passionate about content creation

What’s next for you?

More travel, new ventures and spending time editing all of the content I’ve captured that I want to submit.
