“You should not chase someone else’s success, just try to be better than you were yesterday.”Nastia Smiian, NassyArt
Meet one of our Authors, NassyArt, who has shared her Envato experience and work advice with us.
What’s it like being a creator in your city?
Since childhood I have been living in Kyiv. There are many creative and imaginative people here and interestingly, we have an incredible number of great programmers.
I’ve been working on my own as a designer/illustrator since my second year of university. It was a great experience that helped me develop and improve my visual skills.
How did you get started with Envato and what do you love about your work the most?
I learned about Envato from my friend and decided to try my hand at it. I love having the freedom of choice and being able to decide for myself what theme and style I will apply to my new work. It gives me a flight of fantasy!
What’s the most challenging thing about your work?
Honestly, it can be a struggle to motivate myself and not be lazy. But the best way to cope with it, I’ve found, is to have my own scheduling system where I come up with tasks that motivate me to get the work done on time.
What’s your most memorable client story on Envato?
My client found me on Envato and ordered drawings for her children’s book of affirmations. The book was published in three languages. I’m very proud to have participated in a psychological project which is helping young generations to better understand and accept themselves.
What are your some of your hobbies and interests?
I like to write letters and send them to different parts of the World. I also sculpt ceramics and weave beads to create girly jewellery.
What is your advice to other Authors who want to be successful on Envato?
You should not chase someone else’s success, just try to be better than you were yesterday.
What’s next for you?
I plan to continue creating useful resources for people all over the World. My aim is to simplify someone’s job by helping with the visual development of their new projects.
