Not sure how to make the most of earning on Envato Elements and reaching your first payout threshold? Well, we have a dedicated Author Success team here at Envato and we’ve prepared an ongoing series to help you navigate the basics of getting started on Elements. So let’s dive in!
Before we start talking about reaching your first payout threshold, it’s important to understand all the moving parts related to earning on Envato Elements.
Subscriber Share Model
By now you may have heard of the way Envato Elements uses a Subscriber Share Model rather than a Big Pool approach. “Subscriber share” is the revenue share methodology we use on Envato Elements to allocate 50% of net subscription revenue among individual Authors.
There are some great blog and help centre articles written by Envato that break it all down for you. Check them out below:
The Content Bonus is one of several ways in which Authors can be rewarded for contributing great content to Envato Elements.
How can you be eligible for the Content Bonus I hear you ask? Surely only an elite Author receives it? Well, here on Envato Elements that’s not the case! If you’re an Envato Elements Author then you’re automatically eligible for our Content Bonus. This is because we think it’s important that Authors who consistently publish great items to Elements are rewarded and valued. I mean, who doesn’t like a little recognition here and there?
Rewards & Promotions
From time to time we like to encourage our Elements Authors to publish more of a specific content type.
That’s why it’s important to keep an eye out for any emails or be sure to check out our Forums and Envato Author blog page for any rewards & promotions happening right now as we post announcements there regularly.
So How Can I Reach My Payout Threshold?
For Envato Elements our payout threshold starts at $50 in a month across all content types.
What’s important to consider is our Subscriber Share Model and that it takes around two months to receive your Envato Elements earnings, so it’s essential to start publishing items right away and consistently thereafter.
To make things easier, we’ve included a graph (pictured above), in which we’ve done our best to give an estimate of how many items would need to be published on Elements in one month to meet the payout threshold for each content type.
And finally we thought it’d be nice to end this post with what some of our Authors had to say about their experiences of receiving their first payout:
