Register for EuroTour Now!

This June, we’re making our way from Australia to Europe for EuroTour 2018!

EuroTour is a special opportunity to spark big movements, give rise to great ideas, inspire your future work as a leader in the industry – and even develop lifelong friendships or collaborations!

This year, we’re trying out a new style of EuroTour meetup, which will be held in two parts; a presentation session and an afterparty!

We hope this format will enable Authors to attend around their other commitments, by giving them the choice to attend the full meetup or one of the sessions.

EuroTour Meetup Schedule:

2:00pm – 9:00pm: Full EuroTour Meetup

Or, select either:

2:00pm – 5:00pm: Presentations and Open Discussion

7:00pm – 9:00pm: Afterparty

You’ll be prompted to opt-in to the session/s you can attend during registration.

Dates and Registration:

Attending a EuroTour Meetup is a great opportunity to connect with your local Envato author community and Staff community from our head office.

Meet your Envatian Staff

Aaron Rutley – Hosted

What do you do at Envato?

I’m on the Envato Hosted team, it’s really exciting, I get to work with authors & work on improving our product. I also work on some of our Envato WordPress plugins and some of our internal WordPress tooling.

What are you most excited about for EuroTour?

I’m excited to meet & chat to all of the Envato Authors in all of the different cities. I haven’t been on Euro Tour before, I did get to WordCamp Europe last year and I had a great time.

What was the first thing you ever bought from Envato?

The first item I ever bought was a HTML template for a wedding website. It was years ago, I used it to create a website for a good friend of mine.

How long have you been part of the community?

I’ve been part of the WordPress community since 2008. I was a co-organiser of the Melbourne WordPress meetup that Envato sponsored for many years!

What are you most excited about for WordCamp?

This year, I’m most excited about meeting new people, learning more about Gutenberg and chatting to the Envato community!

James Giroux – Author Engagement Lead

What do you do at Envato?

I am the Author Engagement Lead. My team and I work directly with authors from onboarding, through managing the Elite program, to the Hub, author newsletters, meetups, major community announcements and contests.

What are you most excited about for EuroTour?

I love that every city and every country has its own unique culture and author experience to share. I am most excited to hear about what authors have planned for the future.

The most memorable moments I’ve had involve the food, definitely the food. Whether it’s beer in Berlin, kielbasa in Krakow or pizza in Padua there have been some great culinary experiences. I’ve also personally really enjoyed building relationships with authors, hearing their stories and learning more about what it takes to make it.

In particular, I was blown away by a story I heard in Krakow of an author who was able to hire someone from a developing country and help them emigrate to Europe where, for the first time, they had electricity all day long. These kinds of stories help to remind us all of how the world is changing and how Envato’s platform enables people all over the world to earn a living, doing what they love.

What was the first thing you ever bought from Envato?

The first thing I ever bought from Envato was a ThemeForest theme.

How long have you been part of the community?

I have been a part of the Envato community for 9 years. First as a customer, then as a support team member for a ThemeForest author and now as part of the Envato staff team.

What are you most excited about for WordCamp?

WordCamp is a great opportunity to hear from many different voices around the world about what’s next for WordPress. I particularly love how WordCamp Europe draws people from all over the world to connect about something we all share in common, our love of the WordPress platform and our passion to see it continue to grow and develop.

Stephen Cronin – WordPress Content Specialist

What do you do at Envato?

I’m a WordPress Specialist, doing lots of different things! Some of the things I work on include: requirements and other policies, reviewer processes, complex issues submitted to us via tickets, internal projects, looking ahead to where the industry is taking us, etc. There are lots happening in the WordPress space so I’m always kept busy.

What are you most excited about for EuroTour?

I haven’t been on EuroTour before, but I have been to other conferences etc and I always find it incredibly useful to meet authors. It helps us put faces to author names; remember that authors are real people; get the views of the authors on things like requirements; discuss how these things affect them, etc.

I’m also excited for WordCamp Europe! I’ve always wanted to go to it, but have never made it there before. I’m looking forward to meeting members of the community there that I’ve never been able to meet in the flesh.

What was the first thing you ever bought from Envato?

I’m not sure. Might have been a WordPress theme from Array Themes or an image from GraphicRiver.

How long have you been part of the community?

I’ve been part of the WordPress community since 2007, but didn’t really become part of the Envato community until I joined Envato in 2014.

What are you most excited about for WordCamp?

I’m looking forward to meeting community members I’ve never met, talking to authors etc. I’m also looking forward to catching up with some old friends and I have to say it’s looking like there are going to be some excellent talks! I typically miss many of the talks, but maybe not at this WordCamp!

Stephen Vincent-Grace – Product Manager

What do you do at Envato?

I am a Product Manager at Envato who works in the Content Team. I work with a group of other talented Product Managers focusing on Envato Market and Elements.

What are you most excited about for EuroTour?

I can’t wait to visit Eastern Europe, meet and chat to authors and get some real insight on what are some of their loves and hates about using our product. It’s also nice to get to know our authors on a personal level and get an understanding of what it’s like to be an author.

What was the first thing you ever bought from Envato?

I bought a CSS/HTML template which I use for my photography blog, which you can check out here: Lens and ShutterIt was worth every cent and I love it.

How long have you been part of the community?

I have been working for Envato for nearly 3 years now. Before that, I used the product and signed up to be an author 2 years prior to that, so around 5 years in total. It’s been really cool being on both sides of the fence!

What are you most excited about for WordCamp?

I really want to get an insight into what’s happening in the WordPress world and see what the future of WordPress could be or is planning to be.
